    A new/additional LRZ user account can be requested from the master user (Rafael Matysiuk). New employees of the LMU will get an letter with initial user account credentials for the first login on the LMU portal (see link "Erstanmeldung" beneath the input field).

Antivirus, computer virus scan

  • Sophos for Windows, Mac and Linux (updates via LRZ over MWN)
    On installation/setup please replace "Sophos" in the "Adresse" field e.g. with "http://sophos.lrz.de/remoteupd/ESXP" for Windows PCs. The column "Adresse für Primary Server" shows the right addresses for your operating system (Windows, MAC, Linux)
  • Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows XP/Vista/7

Windows 8

  • Antivirus software is already included (Windows Defender)
  • The start menu can be added with Classic Shell. You can select to boot directly to the desktop.
